Bibb Correctional Facility opened in July 1997 on 250 acres in Brent, Alabama. ADOC’s facility directory classifies Bibb as Medium security, security level four, defined by ADOC as suited for people who have shown less severe behavioral problems and who can take part in formalized treatment programs, work assignments, or other activities within the facility. Bibb runs a total-care medical infirmary through a private medical contractor, with complete dental care, emergency room services, and diagnostic services available on site, a notably more complete medical setup than some other ADOC facilities offer. Ingram State Technical College operates on-site vocational programs at Bibb in Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical. ADOC’s statewide Public Male Inmate Handbook (revised March 2026) applies here: ADOC Public Male Inmate Handbook (PDF). No handbook or visitor-application form specific to Bibb alone was found during research; families should call (205) 926-5252 to ask about the current visitor approval process.
