The Biggest Change: Digital-Only Personal Mail

Effective November 10, 2025, ADOC moved all personal inmate mail statewide to a digital-only system. This applies to letters, photos, drawings, and cards, everything a family member would normally handwrite or print and mail. None of it is delivered to the incarcerated person as physical paper anymore. Instead, it’s mailed to a centralized processing center, scanned there, and delivered to the person electronically on a tablet.

The Correct Address for Personal Mail

Address all personal letters, photos, and cards to:

ALDOC Inmate Mail Processing [Inmate Name] - [Inmate AIS Number] PO Box 17339 San Antonio, TX 78217

Write the inmate’s full name and their AIS number exactly as shown. Your own full name and physical address must be clearly written in the top left corner of the envelope. Find the AIS number using the ADOC inmate locator if you don’t already have it.

Do Not Mail Personal Letters to Limestone’s Physical Address

This is the most common mistake families make with this new system. Personal mail sent to Limestone’s own street address, 28779 Nick Davis Rd, Harvest, AL 35749, after November 10, 2025 is returned to sender. The San Antonio PO Box above is the only correct address for letters, photos, drawings, and cards now.

Packages and Legal Mail Go Somewhere Different

Packages and legal mail are not part of the digital-mail change. They continue to go directly to Limestone’s own physical address:

This is an important distinction. If you send a package or legal correspondence to the San Antonio processing center by mistake, it likely won’t reach the intended recipient the way personal mail does. Keep the two addresses straight: San Antonio for personal letters and photos, Limestone’s own address for packages and legal mail.

Digital Messaging as an Alternative

Beyond physical mail scanned to a tablet, families can also send digital messages directly through two available channels based on official ADOC sources:

• CorrLinks, at corrlinks.com or through the CorrLinks mobile app.
• ICSolutions eMessage, linked directly from Limestone’s own official ADOC page as “Send eMessage” at icsonline.icsolutions.com.

It isn’t clear from official ADOC sources which one is the primary or preferred channel for Limestone specifically. Since the facility’s own page links the ICSolutions option directly, try that first, or call (256) 233-4600 to confirm which digital messaging channel the facility actively uses.

Sending Packages, Books, or Other Items

For packages beyond a standard letter, Union Supply is ADOC’s approved vendor for Property and Hygiene incentive packages. Order online at alinmatepackage.com, by phone at (562) 361-5715, or by mail to Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd. Dept 651, Dallas, TX 75261-9059. These packages run during specific seasonal ordering windows announced by ADOC, so check alinmatepackage.com for the current window. A separate footwear package option is also linked from ADOC’s site at doc.alabama.gov/InmateFootwearPackage.aspx; check that page directly for current details, since specific vendor and pricing information for footwear packages wasn’t confirmed in this research.

Legal Mail

Legal mail is typically handled under separate rules from personal correspondence. If you’re an attorney or sending legal correspondence, mail it to Limestone’s own physical address instead of the San Antonio personal-mail processing center, and call (256) 233-4600 to confirm the exact procedure.

What to Do If Mail Is Rejected or Returned

If a letter comes back to you, check first whether you used the correct San Antonio address for personal mail. If you did and it was still rejected, call Limestone at (256) 233-4600 to ask what specifically caused the rejection before you resend it.
