How to Send Mail and Photos to Breckinridge County Detention Center

Include the inmate’s full name and ID number on the front of every envelope. Include your full name and return address in the upper left corner. Mail without a return address cannot be returned if undeliverable.

Writing Rules

Use blue or black ink only. No markers, crayons, glitter, confetti, or other non-standard materials. All mail is inspected before the inmate receives it.

Photos

Standard photos are accepted. Polaroid-style or instant-print photos are not accepted. Print regular photos on standard photo paper and mail them in a plain envelope. Call (270) 756-6333 to confirm maximum photo count per envelope or any size restrictions before sending.

Books and Magazines

Paperback books may be sent directly from a publisher, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble. Hardcover books are not accepted. Magazines may be mailed directly from the publisher. No books or magazines from a personal residence.

Mail Delivery Days

Mail delivers Monday through Friday. Letters sent on weekends or holidays will arrive the next business day.
