Egeler RGC Inmate Search

Every man sentenced to a Michigan prison starts at Egeler, so OTIS often shows RGC first and then a new prison within weeks. Start with the search below.

Overview

Charles E. Egeler Reception & Guidance Center (RGC), at 3855 Cooper Street, Jackson, MI 49201, is a Michigan Department of Corrections prison in Jackson County. Find someone held there with OTIS, the MDOC Offender Tracking Information System, which also shows the facility address for mail.

Search OTIS

OTIS, the Offender Tracking Information System, searches by last and first name or MDOC number, with filters for sex, race, age and status. MDOC tells families to use OTIS to find the mailing address of the prison where someone is held. Note the MDOC number: mail needs it.

Why Someone Is at RGC

Egeler is the intake center for every male prisoner in Michigan. Men go through about twelve days of intake processing, then wait here until they are transferred to their permanent prison. If OTIS shows RGC, expect it to change.

Three Parts

The Main Complex handles quarantine and reception. C Unit is Level II housing, mostly for men with medical needs. The Duane L. Waters Health Center, with 152 beds, treats male and female prisoners from across the state.

A Letter Through Intake

Men at RGC can move within weeks, so check OTIS first. Then Pigeonly prints a letter you type on your phone and mails it to RGC at 3855 Cooper Street with the MDOC number on it.
