Albemarle Correctional Institution uses ViaPath/ConnectNetwork to process money deposits for people in NC DAC custody. You can send money online at ConnectNetwork.com, by phone, through Western Union using code NCDAC TRUST, or by mailing a money order to TouchPay Holdings LLC. Money orders carry no service fee. Every deposit requires the person’s full legal name and OPUS number. Funds cover commissary purchases, phone time through ViaPath/GTL, and other approved items.
Before you send money, you need two things:
Find the OPUS number using the NC OPI inmate search. A deposit without the correct OPUS number can be delayed, misapplied, or returned.
Go to ConnectNetwork.com and create a free account if you do not have one. Search for Albemarle Correctional Institution, enter the person’s name and OPUS number, choose an amount, and pay with a debit or credit card. Deposits typically post within a few hours during business days.

Call ViaPath/ConnectNetwork directly:
Have the person’s name, OPUS number, and your payment card ready. Phone fees range from $3.27 to $8.95.
Send money through any Western Union location or at westernunion.com. Use code NCDAC TRUST as the receiver. You still need the person’s full name and OPUS number. The Western Union fee is $3.00.
Mail a money order made out to TouchPay Holdings LLC to:

Write the person’s full legal name and OPUS number on the memo line of the money order. Money orders carry no service fee, making this the lowest-cost option. Processing time is longer than online deposits, so plan ahead.
Funds deposited through ConnectNetwork go toward:
NC DAC may place holds on funds if the person has court-ordered restitution, fines, or other financial obligations. Those are taken out automatically.
If the money does not show up within a day or two, check:
Call ConnectNetwork support at 877-650-4249 for help. You can also call Albemarle CI at (704) 244-8700 to check whether a hold was placed.
If the person transfers to another NC DAC facility, funds in their trust account typically follow them. Contact ConnectNetwork at 877-650-4249 or call the new facility to confirm the transfer went through.
Do not send cash in an envelope. Cash sent through the mail is not credited and will not be returned. Use one of the approved methods above.
