Search the BOP Locator
The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal prisoners held since 1982. Search by name (first, middle, last, with optional race, age and sex), or by register number, DCDC, FBI or INS number.
The 8-digit register number is the one to keep: mail and money both need it.
FCI or Camp
The facility page counts about 4,260 men: roughly 3,980 at the FCI and 280 at the minimum security camp. The FCI is split into East and West compounds.
Not the State Prison on the Base
Mid-State Correctional Facility, a New Jersey state prison, also has a Fort Dix address. People there are found through the NJDOC Offender Search, not the BOP locator.
Once You Have the Register Number
Fort Dix mail needs the 8-digit register number the locator gives you. You can type a letter or pick photos on your phone, and Pigeonly prints them and mails them to FCI Fort Dix with that number on them, no printer or stamps needed.
