Visiting Allegany County Jail

Book by Sunday Night

Visits are booked by calling 585-268-9428. Booking for the week must be done by Sunday at 8 PM.

Each person held gets no more than two one-hour visits a week, and can refuse any visit.

Arrive 15 Minutes Early

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your visit. Late arrivals can be denied, or given a shorter non-contact visit for the time left.

ID

A driver’s license or non-driver ID with your photo.

Children

Children under 18 stay with a parent or legal guardian at all times on the property. An adult who is not the parent or guardian needs a signed note from the legal guardian and the child’s birth certificate, shown every time.

Dress Code

No large hoop earrings, hoodies, short skirts, miniskirts or tops that show the midriff. Hats, jackets, purses, bags, phones and keys go in the lockers.

In the Room

A brief hug and a closed-mouth kiss at the start and end, and you can hold hands over the barrier. Everyone stays seated, children on your side. Nothing, including children, is passed across. Leave the room and you cannot come back.

Between Tuesday and Thursday Visits

Visits run Tuesday to Thursday, two one-hour visits a week at most, booked by Sunday at 8 PM. On the off days, Pigeonly mails them printed letters and photos you send from your phone.
