Packages Come From Sellers

Items must be bought from and mailed by a company whose business is selling and shipping them. Allowed:

• 5 paperback books or magazines in total
• A Bible, and legal books and papers
• Current newsstand publications (the jail supplies newspapers)
• Photographs, unaltered and not Polaroids
• One wedding band with no stones
• Religious items such as rosary or prayer beads, a kufi, yarmulke or prayer rug (chains no longer than 18 inches and under $50)
• Glasses or contacts with their case, and dentures

Clothing

• 2 pairs of white long johns, top and bottom
• 3 white sports bras (women only)
• Court clothes, only when the court orders it

The receiving officer writes the person’s name on each piece of clothing.

Dropping Things Off

Only a few things can be brought to the jail, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM: emergency medication, white sports bras, court clothes, and money, money orders or checks.

Prints, Not Polaroids

Chenango lists photos with the items a business mails in, and it turns Polaroids away. Pigeonly prints the photos you choose on your phone as standard prints and mails them to County Road 46.
