Phone Calls at Columbia County Jail

Smart Communications Tablets

Since 4 August 2025, the Columbia County jail has been moving from Securus to Smart Communications. Each person held has an assigned tablet for:

• Phone calls, made and received
• Video visits
• Email and text
• Music, audiobooks and education

Old Securus Balances

Securus is refunding money left on old accounts. Questions about refunds go to Securus on 800-844-6591; the jail has no control over them.

No Incoming Calls to the Jail

You cannot call someone at the jail. Emergencies are verified by staff, who tell the person who to contact.

Something Off the Screen

Calls, video visits and messages all happen on the Smart Communications tablet. Pigeonly sends something they can hold: a letter or photos from your phone, printed and mailed to the jail.
