Collect Calls Out, No Calls In

All calls from the Saratoga County jail are outgoing collect calls. The facility does not take messages for people held. The only incoming calls accepted are from lawyers and for family emergencies, such as a serious injury or a death.

Every call is recorded, except privileged calls such as calls with a lawyer.

GTL AdvancePay

If your number cannot take collect calls, set up a GTL AdvancePay prepaid account. The automated operator offers it during the call, with a $25 or $50 Visa or MasterCard payment, or call 800-483-8314 later.

• Money comes off the account as each call ends.
• To close the account and get a refund, tell GTL within 90 days of the last call. A $5 fee comes off the refund.

The *72 Scam

Be wary of a call asking you to dial *72 and a new number. It forwards all your calls to a number the caller chooses. Dial *73 to undo it.
