How the Money System Works

Berkeley County contracts with McDaniel Supply Company to handle inmate commissary deposits at Hill-Finklea. There are three ways to get money to someone in custody: online through McDaniel’s store, by mailing a money order, or in person at the lobby kiosk.

Option 1. Deposit Online

Go to store.jailpackstore.com/store/index and follow the prompts to make a deposit. You’ll need the inmate’s full name, their housing location within the facility, and their ID number. The facility will not give out this identifying information over the phone, so you’ll need to get it directly from the inmate, from a booking confirmation, or from the online inmate lookup.

Option 2. Mail a Money Order

You can mail a money order directly to the inmate at the facility. Include the inmate’s full name and booking number on the money order, and address the envelope to the physical facility (see the mail and photos guide for the exact address format).

Option 3. Use the Lobby Kiosk

The facility has a deposit kiosk in the lobby that accepts cash or credit card, with a fee added to each transaction. Kiosk hours are 8 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. daily, and it’s also available during scheduled visitation hours. If the kiosk gives you trouble, call the support line at (912) 427-9022.

What You’ll Need Before You Start

Have the inmate’s full legal name ready at minimum. For an online deposit, you’ll also need their housing location and ID number, information the facility won’t provide by phone, so track it down through the inmate directly, a booking record, or the county’s online inmate lookup before you try to deposit online.

Fees

The lobby kiosk charges a transaction fee on top of the deposit amount, though the exact fee isn’t published on the official site, expect it to be disclosed at the kiosk before you complete the transaction. Online deposits through McDaniel Supply Company likely carry a separate processing fee as well. Confirm current fees at store.jailpackstore.com/store/index before depositing.

Are Commissary and Phone Funds Combined?

Not confirmed publicly whether commissary and phone credit draw from the same account or separate ones at this facility. Ask when you make your first deposit or call the facility directly to clarify.
