We checked three numbers: one in Kingstree’s 843 area code, one in South Carolina’s 803 area code and one in New York. All three came back at the same $0.13. Getting Unused Money Back

When you close a Pay Tel account, you can get back whatever is left on it. Pay Tel needs a written request that says you want to close the account, with your name, address, phone number, PIN and how you paid. There’s a refund form on its website. Card payments go back to the card. Money that came in another way comes back as a Pay Tel check. Pay Tel says refunds take 10 to 15 business days.
