How to Search by Name

If you don’t have the Register Number, search by first and last name instead. Since this is a nationwide federal database, a common name can return several results from different facilities across the country. Add as much identifying detail as you have, and double-check the age or other details shown against what you know about the person, to make sure you’ve found the right match.

What the Result Shows

A matching record shows the person’s name, their Register Number, their age, their release date if one has been set, and their current facility. The Register Number is the key piece of information you’ll need for everything else: it’s required to send money through the BOP’s lockbox and to correctly address mail. Write it down and keep it, since it stays with the person even if they’re transferred to a different BOP facility.

FCI vs. Satellite Camp
