ADOC uses Access Corrections (also called Access Secure Deposits) to handle deposits for people in state prison custody statewide, including Fountain. You can deposit online, by phone, in cash at a retail location, or by mailed money order. Every method needs the person’s full name and AIS number, and fees depend on the amount and the method you choose.
Go to www.accesscorrections.com, call (866) 345-1884 to deposit by phone with a debit or credit card, visit a CashPayToday retail location to deposit cash, or mail a money order with a deposit coupon. In every case, you’ll need the inmate’s full legal name and their AIS number to make sure the deposit reaches the right account.
Access Corrections charges a processing fee based on the deposit amount and the method you use. Money orders carry no fee at all.

At www.accesscorrections.com, create an account, search for the inmate by name and AIS number, and pay by debit or credit card. To deposit by phone instead, call (866) 345-1884, which is available 24 hours a day, and follow the automated prompts to enter the same information.

Get a deposit coupon from www.accesscorrections.com or by requesting one at the facility. Write the inmate’s full name and AIS number on the money order itself, not only the envelope. Mailed deposits take longer to process than online, phone, or walk-in deposits because they have to be physically received first.
Every deposit method requires the inmate’s full legal name and their AIS number, the six-digit Alabama Institutional Serial number ADOC assigns to each person in custody. Find it using the ADOC inmate locator if you don’t already have it. A deposit submitted with the wrong name or AIS number can be delayed or misapplied.
First double-check the spelling of the name and the AIS number, since a mismatch is the most common cause of a delayed or failed deposit. If the payment went through on your end but hasn’t posted to the inmate’s account after a few business days, contact Access Corrections through www.accesscorrections.com or call (866) 345-1884. For questions specific to Fountain’s account processing, call the facility at (251) 368-8122.
If the person you’re sending money to is transferred to a different ADOC facility, their account and AIS number stay with them. You don’t need to open a new account, but confirm their current location with the ADOC inmate locator before making a new deposit if you’re unsure where they’ve been moved. This matters at Fountain specifically since William C. Holman Correctional Facility, a separate institution, sits nearby, and mixing up the two Atmore facilities could send your inquiry to the wrong place.
ADOC’s statewide handbook notes that inmate accounts can be subject to court-ordered restitution or other deductions before funds become available for commissary spending. This isn’t unique to Fountain. If you notice a deposit isn’t reflecting the full amount on the person’s spendable balance, ask the facility at (251) 368-8122 whether a deduction applies to their account.
Union Supply is ADOC’s approved vendor for Property and Hygiene incentive packages, which is different from everyday commissary funded through Access Corrections.
