Step 1: Get Approved

Complete the FDOC visitation application for each visitor 16 and older. Download DC6-111A and DC6-111B from official FDOC pages. The facility is run by The GEO Group under FDOC statewide visiting rules. Mail the completed form to the Classification Department at Blackwater River CF, or email it using the facility mailbox listed in the official VisitApp/Mailbox List PDF.

Fill out every field. If something does not apply to you, write “NA”. Do not skip fields. After submission, wait for approval. The inmate is notified, not you. Approval takes about 30 days.

Step 2: Schedule Each Visit

Approved visitors must schedule every visit through the FDOC Offender Search portal. Open the inmate’s profile and submit the Visitation Scheduling Form during the Monday-to-Window cutoff. Do not show up without a scheduled slot.

Visiting Hours and Arrival

Regular visiting is Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST. Arrive early for security. Plan extra time for entry screening. Parking, late-arrival grace, and holiday changes were not located in research, so call ahead before your first visit.

What to Bring

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID for every visitor 16 and older. Driver’s licenses, state IDs, and passports all work. ID should include your photo, current address, date of birth, and physical characteristics.

Dress Code

Review the FDOC visitor information document before your visit. Wear appropriate non-revealing clothing. No gang-related colors or symbols. No exposed undergarments. No ankle-length skirts or dresses. No hats or sunglasses indoors. Shoes must be closed-toe. Do not wear clothing that resembles inmate attire.

Security Screening

All visitors pass through security screening. This includes a staff item search, a walk-through magnetometer, a handheld metal-detector scan, and a clothed pat search by same-sex staff. A canine barrier for drug and phone detection may be present.

Restroom use during visiting is allowed, but expect another pat search upon re-entry.

Cash Policy Note

Blackwater CF is listed by FDOC as one of a limited number of private facilities where visitors may bring small-denomination cash into the visiting park. Most FDOC facilities are cashless. If you plan to bring cash, verify current rules before arriving.

Children and Minors

All visitors 12 and older must complete their own visitation application. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or legal guardian. Have proof of relationship available.

What If a Visit Is Denied on Arrival

An approved visitor can still be denied. Inmates on disciplinary restriction, medical or mental-health hold, or facility lockdown may stop visits. Seating limits may also block entry. Your approved status remains active.
