Who Is at Winn Correctional Center?
Winn holds Louisiana state DOC inmates — adults sentenced by Louisiana courts and serving time under the state Department of Public Safety & Corrections. They are not federal inmates (search bop.gov for those) and are not typically pre-trial parish detainees. If you’re looking for someone held locally on parish charges, check the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Why Someone Might Not Appear
Recent transfer. New arrivals or transfers from another DOC facility can take 24–48 hours to show up in VINELink after processing. If you know they were transferred to Winn, give it two full days.
Name variation. VINELink searches by the legal name on file with DOC. Try alternate spellings or last name only.
Not yet sentenced. Pre-trial detainees awaiting sentencing are typically held at parish jails, not DOC facilities like Winn.
Released. If the person has completed their sentence, they won’t show as currently incarcerated.
