Hancock County Jail Visiting Hours. Schedule, Sign-Up Windows & Video Visitation

Step 1. Call During the Correct Sign-Up Window

Hancock County Jail doesn’t take visit requests any time you call. Sign-up happens during two fixed windows each week:

• Call Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., to schedule a visit for that week’s Wednesday or Thursday sessions.
• Call Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., to schedule a visit for that week’s Sunday or Monday sessions.

Call (207) 667-7588 during the correct window for the day you want. If you miss the window, you’ll need to wait for the next one.

Step 2. Confirm Your Session and Arrive on Time

Once your visit is scheduled, plan to arrive no sooner than 15 minutes before your session starts. Bring a photo ID with you to every visit. Visits are held in specific time blocks (see the schedule below), and each block generally fits multiple separate visitor groups within the hour.

The jail’s policy notes these visit population types may be modified to fit the current inmate population’s needs, so always confirm your exact time slot when you call to schedule.

Non-Contact Visits Only

Every in-person visit at Hancock County Jail happens without physical contact between the inmate and visitor, regardless of custody classification. There’s no separate contact-visit option described in the jail’s published policy.

Video Visitation

Hancock County Jail also offers video visitation through a third-party platform, separate from the in-person, phone-scheduled visits described above:

1. Go to videovisitanywhere.com and sign up for an account.
2. Submit a picture of yourself and a government-issued photo ID through the website.
3. Wait for approval from Hancock County Jail administration.
4. Once approved, schedule your video visit through the same site.

Video visitation terminals inside the jail are turned on during three daily windows: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

What to Bring

Bring a valid photo ID to every visit. Hancock County’s published visitation policy doesn’t list a specific dress code, an age minimum for visitors, or a maximum number of people allowed per visit session. No Standalone Family Handbook Found… and What Actually Exists

We checked specifically for a downloadable family or inmate handbook and a separate visitor application form, per our standard research process. Hancock County publishes an official Non-Contact Visitation policy document directly on the Sheriff’s Office website, covering visit scheduling, hours by custody level, phone, video visitation, and inmate money. We did not find a broader, facility-specific inmate handbook PDF, and we did not find a downloadable application form for in-person visits. Scheduling happens by phone during the fixed windows above.
