Who Can Send Money

Only people on the person’s approved visitor list may deposit funds into their trust account at Franklin CC. If you have not yet started the approval process, use the visitation guide to learn how to get added. If you are already approved, you do not need to visit in person to send money.

What the Money Covers

Trust account funds cover:

  • Commissary purchases (food, hygiene, clothing, and other approved items)
  • Phone calls through ViaPath/GTL at $0.10 per minute
  • Video visits through the GettingOut Visits app
  • Other authorized facility purchases

Phone calls and commissary draw from the same trust account. There is no separate phone-only account to maintain.

Method 1: Online at ConnectNetwork.com

Go to connectnetwork.com and create a free account if you do not have one. Search for Franklin Correctional Center and enter the person’s full legal name and OPUS Number. Choose your deposit amount and pay by debit or credit card.

Fees: $2.48 to $8.16 depending on amount. Fees are shown before you confirm.

This is the fastest method. Funds typically post within a few hours, though the facility confirms exact processing times.

Method 2: ConnectNetwork App

Download the ConnectNetwork app (available on iOS and Android). Log in to your ConnectNetwork account and find Franklin Correctional Center. Enter the person’s name and OPUS Number and follow the prompts to complete the deposit.

Fees are the same as the online method. The app is convenient if you send money regularly.

Method 3: By Phone

Call 888-428-1845 for Trust Fund deposits. Have the person’s OPUS Number ready. You will pay by debit or credit card over the phone.

For AdvancePay phone time specifically, call 800-483-8314. AdvancePay funds are used when the person calls you collect and you have pre-funded your account so the call connects.

Write the person’s full legal name and OPUS Number in the memo line of the money order. Do not send cash. Money orders take longer to post than online or phone deposits. Allow several business days for processing and mail transit time.

Fee: None. This is the only no-fee method.

Deposit Limits and Account Rules

NC DAC sets rules about how much can be on account at any time. If the person’s account is at or near a facility limit, your deposit may be held until space clears. For current limit amounts, call ViaPath support at 877-650-4249 or ask the facility at (984) 295-1200.

If funds are placed on hold due to a disciplinary sanction or court-ordered restitution, they will remain inaccessible until the hold is lifted. Deposits can still be made during a hold, but the person may not be able to spend them right away.

What Happens to Funds During a Transfer

If the person transfers to another NC DAC facility, trust account funds typically transfer with them. Funds do not disappear when someone moves within the state system. However, it may take a few days after a transfer for the account to fully sync with the new facility. Call ViaPath at 877-650-4249 or the new facility to confirm.

If the person transfers to a county jail, the funds may need to be withdrawn or manually transferred. Contact ViaPath customer support at 877-650-4249 for guidance.

Troubleshooting a Failed Deposit

If your deposit does not post within the expected timeframe:

  1. Check that you used the correct OPUS Number. A small error in the number will route funds incorrectly.
  2. Confirm the person is still housed at Franklin CC using the NC OPI inmate search.
  3. Call ViaPath support at 877-650-4249 with your transaction confirmation number.
  4. If the issue is not resolved, call Franklin CC directly at (984) 295-1200.

Keep your confirmation number after every deposit. It makes resolving any problem much faster.
