Edna Mahan Inmate Search

Search NJDOC

The NJDOC Offender Search lists people in New Jersey state custody. You accept a disclaimer, then search. Write down the person’s SBI number: letters need it on the first line.

Two Campuses

NJDOC counts about 192 women at the main campus (medium and maximum custody) and about 200 at the Satellite (minimum custody), on the former Fauver site about four miles away. Both use the Edna Mahan name and mail code.

Records Come Down

People are removed from the search one year after their custodial term ends. People on community or parole supervision for life stay listed. NJDOC updates the data every two weeks.

A Prison Being Replaced

New Jersey plans to close Edna Mahan. A 420-bed women’s prison is planned in Chesterfield Township, with construction expected to start in early 2027 and finish around 2029.

Writing to the Main Campus or the Satellite

Whether she’s on the main campus or at the Satellite Unit four miles away, her mail uses the same code, 1405. With Pigeonly, you type a letter on your phone with her SBI number, and we print and mail it.
