Garden State Youth CF Inmate Search

Search NJDOC

The NJDOC Offender Search lists people in New Jersey state custody. You accept a disclaimer, then search. Write down the person’s SBI number: letters need it on the first line.

Why New Arrivals Show Here

NJDOC says Garden State handles intake and classification for all adult men entering state prison. Someone newly sentenced may be listed here before moving to another prison.

Records Come Down

People are removed from the search one year after their custodial term ends. People on community or parole supervision for life stay listed. NJDOC updates the data every two weeks.

Asking NJDOC

NJDOC does not answer offender questions by phone. Write to:

The Name

NJDOC writes both Garden State Youth Correctional Facility and Garden State Correctional Facility. Despite “Youth,” the 2026 PREA audit lists men 18 and older.

Writing During Classification at Garden State

Garden State is often the first stop while a new SBI number goes through classification, so a letter can reach him early. With Pigeonly, you type it on your phone with that number, and we print and mail it.
