The Facility

The Rensselaer County Correctional Facility has been at its current site since December 1992. A rebuild worth about $35 million, between 2009 and 2011, brought it to 250,000 square feet with twelve housing pods and room for 473 people. Officers work inside each pod, and minimum, medium and maximum security are all under one roof.

No Messages

The jail only accepts verified emergency calls, such as a medical emergency or a death in the family. Do not call to leave personal messages.

After Sentencing

Anyone sentenced to state prison moves into the DOCCS system and gets a DIN, and from then on the DOCCS lookup is the place to find them.
