Your Day Depends on Their Last Name

The visiting week runs Saturday to Friday, and each person gets two visits a week. Days depend on the person’s group:

Arrival Cutoffs

• A visit starting at 7:30 AM: arrive before 8 AM.
• A visit starting at 8 or 8:30 AM: arrive before 9:30 AM.
• A visit starting at 12:30 PM: arrive before 1:20 PM.

ID

• A current DMV driver’s license or state non-driver ID
• A current government employee photo ID
• An original or certified US birth certificate with a school or work photo ID

Addresses on all your ID must match. Social Security cards, credit cards and store cards are not accepted.

Children

Children under 18 come with a parent or legal guardian, who brings the child’s original birth certificate and any guardianship papers, and fills in the guardianship logbook before the child enters the waiting room. Children stay on a lap or the seat beside you.

Visits are refused if there is an active order of protection between visitor and the person held.

What to Leave Behind

No wallets, bags, watches, jewelry (wedding rings are fine), piercings, keys, phones, hair clips, pins or scrunchies, tobacco, food, drinks, candy or gum. A locker can be assigned with an extra ID. Anything left behind is disposed of when the visiting day ends.

Dress Code

The list is strict. Not allowed:

• See-through or mesh, halter, tank or tube tops, V-necks and scoop necks, spaghetti straps, sleeveless or cap sleeves
• Tops that show the midriff or back, or ride up when you sit
• Short shorts or skirts above fingertip length, ripped clothing
• Belts, loose pants, and tight clothing such as leggings, yoga pants or tight jeans
• Jackets, coats, bulky sweaters and hoods
• Solid orange clothing

In the Room

A brief hug, kiss or handshake at the start and end. No holding hands or reaching across the divider.

On the Days Their Group Can’t Visit

Their visiting days depend on their last name, and they get two visits a week. On the other days, Pigeonly turns a letter or photos from your phone into real mail and sends it to the jail.
