Book Tuesday to Thursday Mornings

Visitors, not the person held, book the visit. Call 518-295-2264 on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday before the weekend, between 8 AM and noon. Calls outside those times are not taken, and sessions go first come, first served.

One Hour Each Day

Each person held gets one hour on Saturday and one hour on Sunday. The two hours cannot be combined into one day.

Two visitors per session, and an infant or child counts as a visitor.

Sign In 30 Minutes Early

Sign in with staff at least 30 minutes before your session. Late arrivals are turned away.

Bring valid, unexpired photo ID: a DMV license or non-driver ID, a government photo ID, a military photo ID or a passport. You also give a physical address.

Children

  • Anyone under 18 comes with a parent or legal guardian, who brings an original or certified birth certificate for each child.
  • To send a child with another adult, the parent signs a notarized Visitation Waiver, approved before the visit date.
  • Children who are not visiting cannot be left alone in the building or in a car.

Everyone is screened electronically and may have a visual mouth check. If a medical implant affects screening, bring documentation.

Dress Code

  • No see-through clothing, tank tops, sleeveless shirts, bathing suits, bare midriffs or backs, or plunging necklines.
  • No coats, jackets, hooded sweatshirts, hats or scarves.
  • Remove all jewelry except a wedding band staff approve, plus watches and fitness trackers.
  • Shoes on at all times.

In the Room

Leave belongings in your car or a lobby locker. No phones. A brief embrace and kiss at the start and end, and everyone stays seated. The person held cannot hold children.

Video Visits

People held can make video visits on their tablets, at their own cost, and still keep their weekend contact visit.

While You Wait for the Booking Line

Booking only opens Tuesday to Thursday mornings, so the rest of the week is for writing. Pigeonly prints the letters and photos you choose on your phone and sends them to PO Box 159, no stamps needed.
