Visitor Application Process

Before your first visit, you must be placed on the inmate’s approved visitor list.

Get the Visitor Application Form. The inmate can mail you the form, or you can request it from the ODOC Visitation Unit.
Complete the form. Provide your full legal name, date of birth, address, and relationship to the inmate.
Submit the form to the ODOC Visitation Unit by Wednesday at 1:00 PM.
Wait for approval. Once approved, the inmate will notify you of the scheduled visit date and time.

Background checks are required for all visitors 18 and older. Approval can take up to 90 days.

Approved Visitor Rules

Only the following individuals may be placed on the approved visitor list:

Immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children, grandparents)
Up to 10 friends or associates per inmate
Other relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws) require written approval from the Captain or Associate Warden of Programs

What to Bring

A valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport)
No cell phones, cameras, or recording devices
No large purses, bags, or outerwear that could conceal contraband

You will be patted down before entering the visiting area. Dress conservatively: revealing clothing may result in denial of entry.

Special visits and attorney visits are scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays by prior arrangement. Contact the facility or the ODOC Visitation Unit to coordinate.
