What’s Confirmed and What Isn’t
Beaver County’s official government website describes the jail’s operations and visiting schedule, but it doesn’t publish a named vendor for phone accounts, commissary deposits, or care packages. That’s different from Pennsylvania’s state prison system, where PA DOC clearly names JPay as its statewide vendor.
Third-party sources, including the vendor’s own site and independent aggregator pages, reference ConnectNetwork/GTL as handling trust fund deposits for Beaver County, with support numbers 800-483-8314 for AdvancePay and 888-428-1845 for Trust Fund questions. Access Securepak is similarly referenced for care packages, with customer service at 800-546-6283. Neither of these is confirmed on Beaver County’s own government page as of this writing.
Why This Matters
Vendor information from a company’s own marketing site or a private aggregator can be outdated, or may not reflect the current contract if the county has since switched vendors. Instead of assuming the vendor referenced above is still correct, confirm directly with the jail.
What to Do Before Sending Money
Call Beaver County Jail at (724) 378-8177 and ask specifically what deposit method is currently accepted for the person you want to fund. Have their full legal name ready. Ask whether deposits are handled online, by phone, by mail, or only in person, since this can vary by facility and by vendor contract.
If You’ve Already Used a Deposit Method Before
If you’ve successfully sent money to someone at Beaver County Jail before using ConnectNetwork or another vendor, that method has likely stayed the same. But if it’s been a while since your last deposit, confirm again, since vendor contracts can change without much public notice at the county level.
A Full Checklist for Your Call
When you call (724) 378-8177, ask: (1) what vendor currently processes deposits, (2) whether it’s online, by phone, by mail, or in person only, (3) whether phone credit and commissary are the same account or separate, (4) what happens to a pending deposit if the person transfers or is released before it posts, (5) whether there’s a deposit limit per transaction or per day, and (6) whether there’s a monthly commissary spending cap regardless of account balance.
Refunds and Mistaken Deposits
If you send money in error, the refund process depends entirely on the vendor Beaver County is currently using, since the county’s own page doesn’t describe one. Call as soon as possible after the deposit and be ready to explain the mistake, the sooner you catch it, the more likely a refund is possible before the funds are spent.
What If the Person Transfers or Is Released
Because the vendor isn’t confirmed, it’s also unclear how a deposit gets handled if the person leaves Beaver County Jail before it posts. Ask this directly when you call, since the answer depends on whichever vendor is actually under contract.
If They’re Sentenced and Moved to State Prison
If the person is sentenced and transferred into PA DOC state custody, the money system changes regardless of which vendor Beaver County currently uses, since PA DOC state prisons use JPay statewide. Confirm the transfer through the jail or PA DOC’s own locator before sending anything further.
Restitution and Court-Ordered Deductions
If the person owes court-ordered fines or restitution, ask whether a portion of a deposit is automatically deducted before it becomes spendable, regardless of which vendor is currently used. This isn’t published on Beaver County’s page, so a deposit that looks smaller than expected on the receiving end may be explained by this.
