Step 1. Get Form BP-A0629 Started

Every person who wants to visit, including immediate family, must be listed on Form BP-A0629 (Visitor Information). The inmate submits this to their assigned counselor, who runs a background check (an NCIC check) before approving each visitor. This process takes time, so start it as early as possible after the person arrives at FCI Schuylkill.

Step 2. Wait for Approval

The counselor reviews each proposed visitor before adding them to the inmate’s approved visiting list. There’s no way for a family member to submit this form directly, it has to come from the inmate.

Step 3. Plan Around the Visiting Schedule

Visits happen Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with all visitors required to leave by 3:30 PM. The same schedule applies at the adjacent minimum-security satellite camp.

Understand the Monthly Point System

FCI Schuylkill uses a 6-point monthly system to manage visiting privileges. A weekday visit (federal holidays that fall on a weekday) costs 1 point, and a weekend visit costs 2 points. This caps how many total visits an inmate can receive each month.
