Greenwood County Detention Center doesn’t allow contact visits. You see your loved one on a video screen, either at the jail or from home, and both kinds are booked through InmateSales, the company that runs the jail’s video and phone systems. A visit at the jail is free and lasts 20 minutes. Each person can have 1 visit a day and 2 a week.
Onsite video visit. You come to the Law Enforcement Center at 528 Edgefield Street and talk with your loved one over the jail’s video system. It costs nothing and lasts 20 minutes. These visits happen only on the person’s assigned visitation day, during the hours they have free time.
Remote video visit. You talk from your own phone or computer instead of driving in. InmateSales lists this as an at-home video visit for Greenwood County, and you load a prepaid balance of $1 to $100 on your account before you schedule it.
Either way, the visit is recorded and can be monitored. By joining, you agree to that recording.
Sign-up is limited and first come, first served, so book as early as you can, especially for the person’s assigned visiting day.
InmateSales customer service is 702-829-3001, open Monday to Friday 9 AM to 11 PM Eastern and Saturday 10 AM to 10 PM Eastern. It’s closed on Sunday.
Each incarcerated person can have 1 visit per day and 2 visits per week. If two family members want to see the same person in one week, plan together so neither of you gets turned away because the weekly limit is already used.
Visitation is a privilege at this jail. Someone who becomes a discipline problem or a security risk can lose visits, and visits can be canceled without notice in an emergency.
ID. Every visitor needs a state or government photo ID. A driver’s license, foreign ID or passport all work.
Dress code. Wear a shirt and shoes. These are not allowed:
What you can carry in. Only your photo ID and a set of keys, unless the jail allows something else. Plan to leave your phone, bag and anything else behind.
Search. Expect a pat-down before you enter the visiting area. If you refuse it, you won’t be allowed to visit.
In the visiting area. No smoking, food or drinks.
Anyone under 17 has to come with an adult, and children must be watched the whole time.
The jail applies its non-contact visiting rules to video visits too. Lewd, profane or otherwise inappropriate behavior can cost you, your loved one, or both of you video visiting privileges. Any disruptive behavior by a visitor can end the visit and lead to losing visiting privileges.
