FMC Carswell uses the BOP’s TRULINCS system for both phone calls and email. Phone calls go through TRUFONE, which is part of TRULINCS. They are outbound only, 300 minutes per month, 15 minutes per call. Email is through CorrLinks at corrlinks.com. The person inside must send you an invitation from inside first. Once you accept it, you can exchange messages.
The BOP runs its own phone system, called TRULINCS (Trust Fund Limited Inmate Computer System). The calling component is called TRUFONE. It works differently from state prison phone systems.
You cannot call into FMC Carswell. The person calls you from a TRUFONE terminal. Calls are limited to 300 minutes per month and 15 minutes per call. Every call is monitored and recorded.
The person must add your phone number to their approved contact list through their TRULINCS account. Once your number is approved, they can call you during phone access hours. There is no separate account you need to create to receive calls, but check that your number is not flagged by your carrier as a blocked number.
CorrLinks is the BOP’s email system, available at corrlinks.com. You do not sign up and then search for the person. The person inside initiates contact by sending you an invitation from their TRULINCS terminal. You receive an email with the invitation and accept it on the CorrLinks website.
Once you are connected, you can exchange messages through corrlinks.com. The CorrLinks app is also available. There is no cost to receive messages. Sending a message costs a small fee, which is charged to the person’s TRULINCS account.
Messages are reviewed by BOP staff as part of standard monitoring.
FMC Carswell does not use Securus, GTL, JPay messaging, or ConnectNetwork for phone or email. Those systems are common at state prisons. Federal inmates at Carswell use TRULINCS and CorrLinks.
