A person can have one 30-minute on-site visit and one 25-minute video visit per day.
VisitationYes. The Sheriff's own Custody Manual allows contact visits only for attorneys representing someone in a capital case, and states that no other contact visits shall be allowed. The 2021 PREA audit describes visiting as non-contact and held within the pods. Plan for a visit through a barrier, which matters if you are bringing a child.

MailMarin County's own sources disagree, so confirm before you drive. The public visiting rules say a maximum of 3 people are allowed per visit. The Sheriff's Custody Manual, policy 1009.7, says a maximum of two adults and two children. Both are official. Call 415-473-6655 and ask which applies on the day you plan to come.
VisitationIt depends what you want it spent on, because Marin runs three. Access Corrections holds the commissary and trust account, funded online, by phone at 866-345-1884, at the lobby kiosk or by money order. Forms are kept in the jail lobby for passing a medical or psychological concern to the right staff, and you hand the completed form to the lobby staff member. The form has space for your own contact details so staff can come back to you. Medical and psychological staff are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. GeneralThere is a handbook, and the Sheriff does not publish it. Custody Manual policy 503.3 confirms a detailed handbook is given to each person at orientation, and policy 1009.5 says the visiting schedule appears in that handbook, viewable on the tablets in the pods. Nothing equivalent is published for families, so if a rule matters to you, ask for it on the phone rather than assuming none exists.
