Visiting someone at SATF Corcoran starts with getting approved. The incarcerated person signs CDCR Form 106, the Visitor Questionnaire, and mails it in for a background check. Once you’re approved, you schedule your visit through CDCR’s statewide Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) at cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app. SATF offers 3-day in-person visiting, Friday through Sunday, across its facilities. Because the Visiting Department gets a high volume of calls, SATF’s own page recommends email as the fastest way to reach them. Which phone extension you use also depends on which facility the person is housed in. This guide covers the approval process, visiting hours, walk-in windows, arrival rules, ID requirements, minor-visitor requirements, and a one-time closure coming up on July 24, 2026.
The person you want to visit has to request CDCR Form 106, the Visitor Questionnaire, sign it, and send it to you. Fill it out completely, with every question answered. An incomplete application gets disapproved, and so does one that’s been altered or destroyed.
Answer every question honestly. CDCR checks your answers against law enforcement records before approving you as a visitor.
Send the completed form in for processing. If you have questions while your application is pending, email [email protected] instead of calling, since SATF’s own visiting page notes the phone lines see high call volume.
Once approved, schedule your visit through CDCR’s statewide Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) at cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app.
People housed in Short-Term Restricted Housing (STRH) are not eligible for walk-in visits. If the person you’re visiting is in STRH, you’ll need a scheduled appointment through VSA instead.
Most visitors can arrive up to 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment start time and up to 30 minutes after it. Restricted Housing Unit (RHU) visitors follow a different rule: they must arrive before their scheduled appointment time, not after. Arriving late to an RHU visit can mean losing the appointment entirely, so build in extra travel time if the person you’re visiting is housed in the RHU.
As of CDCR’s June 18, 2026 visiting status update, all SATF facilities are on a normal visiting program, including Facility E. However, Facility E was experiencing HVAC issues at that time, and staff were taking measures to cool the area as needed. This is an operational status that can change day to day, so if you’re visiting someone housed in Facility E, it’s worth confirming current conditions before you drive out, especially during hot weather.

Because phone lines see high call volume, SATF’s own visiting page recommends email over calling for most visiting questions. Reach the Visiting Department at [email protected]. This is a genuinely useful shortcut if you’ve had trouble getting through by phone.
Adults must present valid, unexpired photo ID. An expired driver’s license, even with a paper renewal form, is not accepted. You need a valid physical license or one of these:
An adult accompanying a minor (17 or younger) must bring a certified copy of the minor’s birth certificate at every single visit, not only the first one. Without it, entry is denied.
If the accompanying adult is not the minor’s legal parent or guardian, they also need a notarized Minor Consent Form, a statewide CDCR form available as a fillable PDF at cdcr.ca.gov/visitors. The notary stamp has to be on the Minor Consent Form itself, not on a separate attached page, or it won’t be accepted.
Mark your calendar: regular visiting at SATF, both scheduled appointments and walk-ins, is closed on Friday, July 24, 2026 for CDCR’s annual Get on the Bus event. This is a one-time date, not a recurring closure. Regular visiting hours resume the next day, Saturday, July 25, 2026.
We looked for a SATF-specific inmate or family handbook PDF. We didn’t find one. We also looked for a SATF-specific visitor application form beyond the standard statewide process, and didn’t find a separate one, but we did confirm the statewide CDCR Minor Consent Form applies here for minors visiting with a non-parent, non-guardian adult, and that form’s notary stamp has to be on the form itself.
