What You Need Before You Send
Before you send money, get the inmate’s DC number. This is their Florida DOC identification number. Find it on the FDOC Offender Search at dc.state.fl.us/OffenderSearch/Search.aspx by searching the inmate’s name. Write it down. You will need it for every Correct Pay transaction.
You will also need the inmate’s last name to match the DC number on the deposit.
Option 1: Send Money Online Through Correct Pay
Correct Pay is the fastest and most common way to send money to a Florida state inmate.
Go to CorrectPay.com/Florida and create a free account if you do not already have one. Once logged in, select Send Money. Enter the inmate’s DC number and last name to find their account. Select the amount you want to send and complete payment by credit card, debit card, or bank account.
Correct Pay charges a service fee per transaction. The fee amount depends on the size of the deposit and the payment method. You will see the fee before you confirm.
For help, call Correct Pay at (855) 836-3364.
Option 2: Send Money by Phone
Call Correct Pay at (855) 836-3364 to send money over the phone. Have the inmate’s DC number, your payment information, and the amount you want to send ready before calling. Phone transactions may carry a higher service fee than online deposits.
Option 3: Send Money Through MoneyGram
MoneyGram lets you send cash from a retail location without a bank account or credit card. Locations include Walmart, 7-Eleven, and CVS.
Go to moneygram.com to find the nearest location. When you complete the MoneyGram transaction, provide the inmate’s DC number, their last name, and the facility name. MoneyGram processes the payment and sends it to Correct Pay, which deposits it into the inmate’s trust account.
Option 4: Lobby Kiosk at Lowell CI
Lowell CI has a kiosk in the facility lobby that accepts cash, debit cards, and credit cards. Use the kiosk when you are already at the facility for a visit. The kiosk deposits funds directly to the inmate’s account with minimal delay.
Option 5: Money Orders by Mail
You can mail a money order to Correct Pay’s processing address. Write the inmate’s full name and DC number on the money order memo line. Send it to:
Correct Pay
PO Box 25900
Bradenton, FL 34206
Do not send cash through the mail. Do not send money orders directly to the facility street address. Allow several business days for processing.
What Funds Cover
Money deposited into the inmate’s trust account can be used for commissary purchases (food, hygiene, stamps, and other approved items), prepaid phone credit, and approved programming fees. Phone prepaid credit goes through a separate ConnectNetwork/AdvancePay account. Set up accounts with both Correct Pay and ConnectNetwork to cover all options.
Troubleshooting a Failed Deposit
If a deposit does not show up within the expected timeframe, check these things first. Log into your Correct Pay account to confirm the transaction completed. Verify the DC number matches the inmate. A single digit error sends the money to the wrong account. Call Correct Pay at (855) 836-3364 to request a trace on the transfer if the deposit still does not appear after 3 business days.
What Happens When the Inmate Transfers
If the inmate transfers to a different FDOC facility, the balance in their trust account moves with them. Correct Pay works across all FDOC institutions, so you do not need to change your account setup.
If they transfer to a facility that uses a different money system (for example, a federal BOP facility), the trust balance may need to be refunded before it can be sent to the new account. Call Correct Pay at (855) 836-3364 for guidance.
