How to Get Approved to Visit

Before you can visit, the inmate must add you to their approved visitor list through the Visitation Application process. Once approved, check with the facility or the FDOC Offender Search portal to confirm the visiting day that applies to your specific visitor.

What to Bring

Bring one valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID. Leave cash, bags, and personal electronics in your car since these are not allowed past the lobby.

Dress Code

Wear clothing that covers your chest, midriff, and thighs. Avoid clothing that resembles inmate uniforms (blue chambray or grey sweats), anything camouflage, and clothing with gang-related symbols or profanity. Underwire bras may need to be removed if they trigger the metal detector, so consider a non-underwire option.

Security Screening

Expect to pass through a metal detector and have your ID checked against the approved visitor list. Staff may conduct a pat search if the metal detector alarms. Follow all instructions from correctional officers during screening.

Visits for Minors

Children visiting must be accompanied by an approved adult visitor and may need a birth certificate or other proof of relationship. Check with the facility in advance if a minor’s other parent or guardian is not the person on the visitor list, since additional notarized permission may be required.

Getting There

The facility is located at 3950 Tiger Bay Road, Daytona Beach, FL 32124-1098. Go 8 miles west of Daytona Beach on US-92 to Indian Lake Road, turn right, follow to Tiger Bay Road, and turn left. FDC notes that GPS systems and mapping sites like Google Maps and Mapquest often give incorrect directions using the physical address, so follow these official directions instead.

What’s Not Allowed

Visitors cannot bring in weapons, drugs, cell phones, cameras, or outside food and drink. Attempting to pass contraband to an inmate is a felony under Florida law and can result in a permanent visitation ban and criminal charges.
