Newton Correctional Facility sits on 1,476 acres five miles south of Newton, the largest prison site in Iowa, and it is really two facilities under one name. The medium-security prison is on 60th Avenue West, and the Correctional Release Center, which prepares people for parole, work release or discharge, is further down the same road with its own address and its own visiting hours. Newton is also the only Iowa prison that publishes a family-facing rules document, which means this is the one place in the state where the dress code, the baby items list and the number of visits a week are all written down.

They share a phone number and a PO Box.
GeneralThat depends on your person's housing level, and Newton is the only Iowa prison that publishes the answer. TIP 1 in general population gets one visit a week, video or in person, not both. TIP 2 gets one of each. TIP 3 gets one video and two in-person visits. Unit A is limited to one non-contact hour a week with two adult immediate family members.
VisitationNewton Correctional Facility runs three in-person slots on Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 to 10:00, 10:45 to 12:45, and 1:30 to 3:30. The Correctional Release Center runs 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM both days. Video differs too, with NCF on Sunday, Monday, Friday and Saturday, and CRC on Monday and Friday afternoons only.

Newton states that Ameelio Connect is only available on iPhones, iPads and Androids and is not currently available on computers or laptops, while the department's own Ameelio page says it is available on computers. Both are official, they contradict each other, and a phone is the safe assumption here.
VisitationTo the person's name and offender number, then the line Newton Correctional Facility - 1111, then PO Box 96777, Las Vegas, NV 89193. Iowa states that non-legal mail sent directly to a prison is returned to sender. The 1111 code applies whether they are in the medium facility or the Correctional Release Center.
MailNo, and Newton's own rules say so in capitals. Money must be mailed to Fort Dodge, where Iowa centralized offender banking for all nine prisons. The address is the IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account, 1550 L Street, Suite B, Fort Dodge, IA 50501, and a money order has to carry the offender's name and number plus your name and full address.
