SCP Atwood is the female satellite camp at FMC Lexington. Visiting hours and programming differ from the main compound.
FMC Lexington operates two distinct units on the same property. The main FMC compound houses male inmates with medical needs. The Satellite Camp, known as SCP Atwood, houses female inmates. If your loved one is a woman at FMC Lexington, she is housed in the satellite camp. The camp has its own visiting schedule, which is different from the main compound. All other BOP rules for money, mail, and phone calls apply equally to both units.
SCP Atwood is the Satellite Prison Camp attached to FMC Lexington. It holds sentenced female federal inmates. The “SCP” designation means it is a satellite camp, which is a minimum-security unit that shares resources with the main facility.
If the BOP Inmate Locator at bop.gov/inmateloc/ shows your loved one located at “FMC Lexington” and she is a woman, she is at SCP Atwood. Both the main compound and the satellite camp are at 3301 Leestown Road.
The camp has different visiting days and hours than the main compound. Use the schedule below:

Processing cutoffs apply. Do not arrive right at closing time. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the visiting session ends.
Note that Friday visiting at the satellite camp (5:00 PM to 8:30 PM) is counted at the weekday point rate for the camp: 1 visiting point per session. Weekend visits cost 4 points each.
Camp inmates at FMC Lexington receive visiting points as part of the same 16-point monthly system. However, Friday visits at the satellite camp count as 1 point (weekday rate), while weekend and holiday visits cost 4 points each.
This differs from the main compound, where Friday visits also count as 4 points. If your loved one is at the satellite camp, Fridays are their most point-efficient visiting day.
The process is the same as the main compound. The inmate submits a Visitor Information form (BP-A0629) to their unit team for each person they want to add. Allow at least three weeks for processing before your first visit. Call (859) 255-6812 to check on approval status.
All BOP-wide rules apply equally to SCP Atwood inmates:
