Laurel County Correctional Center uses Telmate, part of the GTL/Viapath family, for all inmate phone calls. Calls go one direction: the inmate calls you. You can’t call them directly. To receive calls, register your phone number through GettingOut at gettingout.com and add funds to your account. Video visitation runs through a separate platform, ConnectNetwork. Messaging and photos go through the GettingOut app. The general facility number is (606) 878-9431.
Before your loved one can call you, set up your account through GettingOut and register your number. Here is how.
Step 1: Go to gettingout.com or download the GettingOut app on iOS or Android.
Step 2: Create an account. Enter your name, email, and a password. Use the same name that will appear on incoming call notifications.
Step 3: Add Laurel County Correctional Center as the facility. Search by name or browse Kentucky jails.
Step 4: Register the phone numbers you want to receive calls on. You can add multiple numbers. Only registered numbers can receive inmate calls from Telmate.
Step 5: Add funds. Deposit money into your account so calls connect immediately when your loved one calls. You can use a debit card, credit card, or ACH bank transfer. A service fee applies.
Once your account is active, the inmate can find your number in the system and place calls. Calls are charged per minute.
