Who Is at Allen Correctional Center?
Allen CC holds Louisiana state DOC inmates: adults sentenced by Louisiana courts and serving time under the state Department of Public Safety and Corrections. The facility is not a federal prison (search bop.gov for those) and does not typically hold pre-trial parish detainees. Allen CC holds minimum, medium, and maximum custody inmates. If you’re looking for someone held locally on parish charges, check the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Why Someone Might Not Appear
Recent transfer. New arrivals or transfers from another DOC facility can take 24 to 48 hours to show up in VINELink after processing. If you know they were transferred to Allen CC, give it two full days.
Name variation. VINELink searches by the legal name on file with DOC. Try alternate spellings or last name only.
Not yet sentenced. Pre-trial detainees awaiting sentencing are typically held at parish jails, not DOC facilities like Allen CC.
Released. If the person has completed their sentence, they won’t appear as currently incarcerated.

If someone doesn’t appear in VINELink after 48 hours and you have reason to believe they’re at Allen Correctional Center, call (337) 639-2943. Have their full legal name and any DOC ID number you have available.

A Note on Allen CC’s History
Allen Correctional Center was privately operated by GEO Group from its opening in December 1990 until August 2017, when GEO terminated its contract and Louisiana DOC took over direct management. If you have older information about the facility from before 2017, some procedures may have changed. The facility now follows standard LADOC policies for inmate records, communications, and visitation.
