Phone Calls Through TRULINCS

How It Works

Federal inmates at USP Pollock make calls through TRULINCS terminals in housing units and common areas. Here is the process:

1. The inmate adds your phone number to their approved contact list in TRULINCS.
2. BOP reviews and approves the contact. This typically takes a few days.
3. Once approved, the inmate can call your number from any TRULINCS terminal during scheduled calling hours.
4. You receive the call like a regular incoming call. You do not need to set up a special account to receive calls.

Call Rates

By FCC regulation, interstate calls are capped at $0.06 per minute. The inmate pays for calls from their Trust Fund (commissary) account. You are not billed for receiving calls.

Call Monitoring

All TRULINCS calls at USP Pollock are recorded and may be reviewed by BOP staff at any time. Do not discuss:

• Anything related to criminal activity or pending legal matters
• Legal strategy (use privileged legal mail for that instead)
• Anything you would not say in front of a BOP officer

If Calls Are Not Coming Through

• Your number must be on the inmate’s currently approved list, not just submitted
• Your carrier may be blocking correctional facility call numbers. Contact your carrier and ask to whitelist Securus or Global Tel Link numbers
• Call USP Pollock at (318) 561-5300 if the inmate reports their account is restricted

Email Through CorrLinks

Federal facilities use CorrLinks, not email apps like Gmail or WhatsApp. All messaging happens through corrlinks.com.

Setup Process

The inmate goes first:

1. The inmate logs into their TRULINCS account and adds your email address to their contact list.
2. BOP reviews and approves the email contact.
3. CorrLinks sends you an automated invitation email to accept communication.

Your part:

1. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for an email from CorrLinks.
2. Click the link to create a free CorrLinks account, or sign in if you already have one.
3. Accept the communication request.
4. You can now send and receive messages with the inmate through CorrLinks.

CorrLinks Messaging Rules

• Text only. No attachments, no photos, no files of any kind.
• 13,000 character limit per message, about 2 typed pages.
• All messages are monitored by BOP staff.
• If you do not accept the invitation within the set window, the request expires and the inmate must resend it.

Video Visitation

BOP has been rolling out video visits to federal facilities through facility-issued tablets. USP Pollock may offer video visits, but availability can change based on institutional needs and may be suspended without notice. Call the facility at (318) 561-5300 to confirm current availability and how to schedule a session. Visitors must be on the approved visiting list to participate. All video sessions are monitored and recorded.
