This is the official tool for finding someone in Massachusetts DOC custody. Search by the person’s full name or their commitment number. The result will show their current facility, which may or may not be Old Colony if they’ve recently moved.

What This Tool Does Not Cover

The state DOC locator only covers people sentenced to DOC custody. It does not include county jails, recent arrests still being processed, or people held pretrial in a county facility. If someone was arrested recently, they may still be in county custody and not yet show up here.

If a Recent Transfer Hasn’t Appeared

Transfers between facilities can take a few days to update in the system. If it’s been longer than that and you believe the person is at Old Colony, call the facility directly at (508) 279-6000.

What to Have Ready
