Burke County Jail does not accept money orders, personal checks, or postal money orders. This is different from many county jails. If you mail a money order to the facility or the Greensboro PO Box, it will not be accepted. The only way to put money on the person’s account is through JailATM.

A JailATM kiosk is available inside Burke County Jail at 130 Government Drive, Morganton, NC 28655. You can deposit cash, debit, or credit at the kiosk. The process is the same: enter the person’s name and inmate ID, choose an amount, and pay. A service fee applies.
The kiosk is useful if you want to pay with cash or if you prefer not to use the website.

What Happens When Someone Transfers

If a deposit does not post within 24 hours, check the following:
