To find someone at Durham County Detention Facility, use the official Durham County inmate search at www2.dconc.gov/sheriff/ips/default.aspx. This is a live daily roster run by the Durham County Sheriff’s Office. You can filter results by last 24 hours, last 30 days, or currently incarcerated. Once you find the person, write down their inmate ID number. You need it for every TouchPay deposit, every GTL VisitMe visitor registration, and every piece of mail you send.
Go to www2.dconc.gov/sheriff/ips/default.aspx. The Durham County Sheriff’s Office runs this tool directly. You will see three filter options:
To find a specific person, select “Currently incarcerated” unless you think they were just booked and have not yet been processed. Enter the first and last name and run the search.
The results list each person’s name, their inmate ID number, booking date, and charges. The inmate ID number is the most important piece of information you will find here. Save it somewhere safe. You will use it for:
The “last 24 hours” filter is useful if someone was arrested recently and you are trying to confirm they are at Durham County. The “last 30 days” filter covers the past month of bookings. “Currently incarcerated” is the most useful for ongoing contact: it shows everyone in custody right now.
If the person was just booked within the last few hours, they may not appear yet. Booking and processing takes time, and the roster updates on a daily cycle. Give it up to 24 hours and search again.
