How to Send Money to Rowan County Detention Center

Inmate Canteen handles all deposits for the Rowan County Detention Center. You have three ways to send money.

Option 1: Online at team3.inmatecanteen.com

1. Go to team3.inmatecanteen.com.
2. Create an account or log in.
3. Search for the Rowan County Detention Center.
4. Enter the person’s full legal name and inmate ID number.
5. Choose a deposit amount and pay by credit or debit card.
6. A transaction confirmation will appear on screen. Keep it until funds are confirmed on the person’s account.

Fees apply and are shown before you confirm. The amount depends on the deposit size and payment method.

Option 2: Lobby Kiosk

Kiosks are available in the lobby at both locations:

• Main jail: 115 W Liberty Street, Salisbury, NC 28144
• Annex: 400 Grace Church Road, Salisbury, NC 28147

Kiosks accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards. This is a good option if you are already at the facility for a visit or prefer to pay with cash.

Option 3: Mail a Money Order

Make the money order payable to Inmate Canteen or as directed on the Inmate Canteen website. Do not send cash or coins. Personal checks are not accepted.

• The person’s full legal name

Mail-in processing takes longer than online or kiosk deposits. If you need funds posted quickly, use the online or kiosk options.

What You Always Need

Every deposit requires:

• The person’s full legal name as it appears on their booking record
• Their inmate ID number

What the Money Is Used For

Funds deposited through Inmate Canteen go toward:

• Commissary: Food items, hygiene products, clothing, and other authorized items the person can purchase from the facility store
• Phone account: Funds are used to cover outgoing calls through PayTel Communications. See the phone calls guide for how PayTel works.

The commissary and phone account are managed through the same Inmate Canteen system.

Troubleshooting a Failed or Missing Deposit

If a deposit does not show up on the person’s account:

1. Find your transaction confirmation number from the time of deposit.
2. Confirm you used the correct inmate ID and full legal name.
3. Contact Inmate Canteen customer support through team3.inmatecanteen.com.
4. If the issue is not resolved, call the main jail at (704) 216-8770.

Account Holds

The facility may place a hold on an account in certain situations, such as court-ordered restitution or outstanding obligations. If a deposit is made but the person says the funds are unavailable, call the facility at (704) 216-8770 to ask about any holds on the account.

What Happens to Funds at Transfer or Release

If the person transfers to another facility, funds may or may not transfer depending on the receiving facility’s policies.
