Clinton County Jail Inmate Search

Search VINE

The Sheriff’s Inmate Lookup link opens New York VINE for the Clinton County Jail. VINE searches by first and last name and can alert you when someone’s custody status changes.

For a recent arrest, or to get a booking number, call the Booking Office on 518-565-4351.

Two Clinton Facilities

This guide covers the county jail in Plattsburgh, run by the Clinton County Sheriff. Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora is a state prison run by DOCCS, with its own rules and its own guide. Clinton County jails also exist in other states.

ICE Detainees

The jail also holds people for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. For information about an ICE detainee there, ICE lists 518-565-4343, 8 AM to 4 PM. Have their full name, any aliases, date of birth and country of birth ready.

After Sentencing

Anyone sentenced to state prison moves into the DOCCS system and gets a DIN, and from then on the DOCCS lookup is the place to find them.

Writing to the Right Clinton

Once VINE confirms the Plattsburgh jail, not the state prison in Dannemora, every letter goes to the county jail. Pigeonly prints a letter you type on your phone and mails it to McCarthy Dr. for them.
