Overview

Niagara County keeps this simple in structure. Commissary deposits go through one named vendor. Bail and fines go through a second system under two different codes.

Quick Facts

  • 1 Commissary deposits run through Access Corrections
  • 2 The Sheriff's Office links it under an incarcerated individual commissary heading
  • 3 Bail is paid through the county's online payment system at code 2650
  • 4 Fines and fees use a different code, 7684
  • 5 The Sheriff's mobile app also takes commissary deposits
  • 6 Jail Information answers on 716-438-3446

Commissary Goes Through Access Corrections

The Sheriff’s Office links this directly from its own navigation, under a heading for incarcerated individual commissary, pointing at the Access Corrections send money service.

That is the route for everyday spending money: food, hygiene items, stationery. Access Corrections is part of the Keefe Group, which also supplies commissary itself in many facilities.

The county corroborates the route in its own police reform documentation, describing the feature that lets family, friends and acquaintances deposit money into a commissary account for people held at the facility.

Access Corrections shows its own fee on screen before you confirm a payment, so read the screen rather than assuming.

Bail and Fines Are Two Different Codes

Niagara uses an online payment system where each purpose has its own payment location code, and this is where money goes astray.

What you are payingCode
Bail2650
Fines or fees7684

They sit on the same platform, look the same, and do entirely different things. Code 2650 is the bail one. Paying a fine does not release anybody, and paying bail does not settle a fine.

Neither is the same as a commissary deposit, which is a different company again. Three destinations in total, and a family dealing with a new arrest may need more than one of them in the same week.

The App Takes Deposits Too

Niagara County publishes an official Sheriff’s app, built for the Sheriff’s Office by an outside vendor and last updated in December 2025. Families can view people booked into the facility, post bail, deposit money into a commissary account, submit tips and receive alerts.

It is optional in every respect. Recent reviews complain about buffering and stale data, so if the app is being slow, the web routes behind it are the same services without the wrapper.

Two Checks Worth Two Minutes

Two checks worth two minutes, and both matter more at this jail than at most.

Confirm they are still here. More than a quarter of the people in this building are federal detainees, and federal transfers happen on a timetable Niagara County does not control. The Sheriff’s own search will tell you whether somebody is still in custody.

Confirm which account you mean. Commissary, bail and fines are three different destinations, and the county names a code for two of them precisely because they get confused.

5 of 5 questions

Q

How do I put money on someone's books at Niagara County Jail?

Through Access Corrections, which the Sheriff's Office links directly from its own navigation under an incarcerated individual commissary heading. That account covers everyday spending: food, hygiene items and stationery. The county's mobile app offers the same deposit route in a different wrapper.

Q

What is payment location code 2650?

It is Niagara County's code for paying bail through its online payment system. A different code, 7684, is used for fines and fees. The two sit on the same platform and look alike, but paying a fine does not get anybody released and paying bail does not settle a fine.

Q

What fee does a Niagara deposit carry?

Access Corrections shows its own fee on screen before you confirm a payment, which is the reliable place to see it.

Q

Is paying bail the same as sending commissary money?

No, and they are different companies as well as different purposes. Commissary runs through Access Corrections and buys things inside. Bail runs through the county's payment system at code 2650 and is about release. A family dealing with a new arrest often needs both in the same week, which is exactly why they get confused.

Q

Should I check anything before sending money?

Confirm they are still at this facility. Over a quarter of the people held here are federal detainees, and federal transfers happen on a timetable the county does not set or announce. The Sheriff's own incarcerated individual search answers that in a few seconds.
