How Often and How Many

  • One session per visitor per day.
  • Each person held can have two sessions a day.
  • Three visitors at a time.
  • Sessions are capped at 50 people held, and busy days fill.
  • Either side can end the visit after 30 minutes, but once you leave you cannot go back in.

Identification

Accepted ID includes a photo driver’s license, a DMV non-driver ID, a passport, a Social Services card or senior citizen card with photo and date of birth, or a school or work ID with a birth certificate. A newborn needs a certified birth certificate.

Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or a person with proof of guardianship, and bring an original or certified birth certificate.

Two Rules That Catch People Out

  • If you are named in an active order of protection, it must say that visits during incarceration are allowed.
  • Anyone released from this jail cannot visit for 30 days after release.

You sign in, your photograph is taken, and everything goes in a locker (a quarter, returned). Then a metal detector, a hand scanner, a mouth check, pockets turned out and trouser legs and sleeves unrolled. Random drug detection checks can end your visiting privileges. Tell the officer if you have a pacemaker.

The Dress Code

No overalls, hooded sweatshirts, sleeveless or tank tops, halter tops, mini skirts (skirts must reach below the knee), underwire bras, see-through or mesh clothing, or tight clothing such as spandex. Shirts must cover you when seated. All hair items come off before the scanner.

In the Room

A brief embrace and kiss once at the start and once at the end. Children two and under can be passed to the person held once. No food, drinks, gum, bottles or pacifiers. Use the restroom first: leave the room and the visit is over.

Getting There

The jail is at 110 Wells Farm Road, Goshen. The visiting lobby desk is 845-291-7715 during visiting hours.

Between Visits

Pigeonly sends printed letters and photos from your phone to the jail, for the days without a session.
