Visitation Schedule
ORW holds visits five days a week with two sessions each day.
| Session | Visit Hours | Earliest Arrival |
|---|
| Morning | 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM | 6:50 AM |
| Afternoon | Noon to 3:30 PM | 11:50 AM |
Do not arrive before the stated arrival time. Visitors who arrive within the last hour of the session will not be admitted. Plan to arrive close to the start of your session, not the end.
Call ORW at (937) 642-1065 before your visit to confirm the schedule. Visiting hours are subject to change without notice.
Step 1: Apply to Become an Approved Visitor
Before you can book a visit, you must complete a visitor application and be approved by ORW staff.
Go to drc.ohio.gov/visitation to find:
- The adult visitor application form (DRC2096)
- The minor child visitor application form
- Step-by-step instructions for submitting
Submit the completed form to ORW and wait for approval. Once approved, you’ll be able to schedule visits online. You can also email visitor application questions to [email protected].
Step 2: Book Through ViaPath
Once approved, go to ohdoc.gtlvisitme.com to schedule your visit. You can book up to 30 days in advance. After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation number. Write it down or save it. You must give this number to the ORW visitation officer when you arrive.
ORW also offers video visitation through the same portal. Contact the institution at (937) 642-1065 for current video visit hours.
ID Requirements
Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. A driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID is accepted. Expired IDs will not be accepted.
Minors
Minor children count toward the total number of visitors allowed per incarcerated person. Bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate or legal guardianship documentation when visiting in person. An Authorization for Minor Child Visitation form may also be required depending on the relationship between the child and the inmate.
Contact ORW at (937) 642-1065 or email [email protected] to confirm exactly what documentation the child needs before your visit.
Dress Code
ORW follows ODRC General Visiting Instructions (DRC2274). Dress conservatively. Standard ODRC visitor dress code prohibits:
- Clothing resembling the inmate’s uniform
- Revealing or see-through clothing
- Low-cut tops or dresses
- Clothing exposing the midriff or undergarments
- Shorts or skirts above mid-knee
- Gang markings or offensive imagery
Violating the dress code may result in a denied visit. Denied visits due to dress code violations can count against the inmate’s monthly allowance.
What You Can Bring
The visiting room has indoor and outdoor areas. Diaper bags and infant carriers are subject to search. Do not bring bags, purses, or outside items unless needed for an infant. Leave everything else in your car.
ORW’s visiting room includes a children’s play area with storybooks, toys, and games. If you’re bringing children, they’ll have a designated space.
Visiting Room Capacity
ORW’s visiting room holds up to 21 incarcerated persons and their visitors at one time. The room includes five tables on a stage (with stairs, plus handrails and guardrails), 16 tables on the floor, seven outdoor tables, and two rooms reserved for attorney visits. The managing officer determines how many visitors are allowed per session based on capacity.
