Livesay allows contact visitation, meaning visitors and inmates can share a brief embrace and kiss at the start and end of the visit. SCDC’s general institutions page doesn’t publish Livesay-specific visiting days and hours, so call ahead to confirm the current schedule before you plan a trip.
Livesay is not on SCDC’s list of non-contact, plexiglass-only institutions (Broad River, Kershaw, Kirkland, Lee, Lieber, McCormick, Perry, Ridgeland, Turbeville), so visits here include a brief embrace and kiss at the start and end, plus hand-holding during the visit.
Unlike some other SCDC institutions, Livesay’s specific visiting days and hours aren’t listed on SCDC’s general institutions page. Because Livesay has two internal custody divisions (“A” Camp and “B” Camp), each with its own phone line, schedules may differ between them. Call “A” Camp at (864) 594-4915 or “B” Camp at (864) 495-4920 to confirm which days and hours currently apply to the person you’re visiting.
Before scheduling anything, you need to be on the inmate’s approved visitor list. Effective Feb. 12, 2026, SCDC replaced its old paper application (Form 19-127) with a single online application at scdoc.gtlvisitme.com/app. Apply there and upload a photo of your driver’s license (or a long-form birth certificate for a minor applicant). If you were already an approved visitor before this change, you don’t need to reapply.
If you have trouble with the online application, call SCDC’s Visitation Inquiry Line at (803) 896-1838, press 1, or email [email protected].
Book through the GTL scheduler at scdoc.gtlvisitme.com/app. Select Livesay, choose an available time, and confirm. Create a GTL account first if you don’t already have one.
Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID. Other requirements, like dress code specifics, aren’t published for Livesay specifically, ask when you call to confirm visiting hours.
Bringing contraband onto SCDC property, including drugs, alcohol, or weapons, is a felony and results in arrest. Beyond that, visitors generally cannot loiter, photograph buildings or fences, or bring anything to an inmate other than approved items. Breaking a rule can end your visit immediately and lead to a suspension of visitation privileges.
Call “A” Camp at (864) 594-4915 or “B” Camp at (864) 495-4920, depending on which division the person you’re visiting is housed in. For general visitation questions not specific to Livesay, email [email protected].
