Before anything else: you have to be on his approved list. Since September 1, 2020, TDCJ requires that anyone sending money be on the inmate’s approved visitor list or approved phone list. If you’re not on either list, the deposit will be rejected regardless of which vendor you use.

Large Deposits: The 14-Day Hold

Any deposit of $500 or more is subject to a mandatory 14-day hold before funds are credited to the inmate’s trust fund account.

Checking a Balance

TDCJ doesn’t offer a public balance lookup for family members. Confirm deposits through your vendor’s transaction confirmation, or ask the inmate during their next call.
