Upshur County Jail Visiting Hours

In-Person Visits

Upshur County Jail allows in-person visitation, but the full schedule is not published on the official county website. Call 903-843-2541 to confirm hours before making the trip to Gilmer. Staff can confirm current visiting hours, any schedule changes, and whether the person you want to visit is cleared for visits.

When you call, have the inmate’s name and SO number ready. Ask whether there are any restrictions on their visitation status before you plan your trip.

The jail is at 405 N Titus St, Gilmer, TX 75644.

Video Visits Through NCIC

Video visits are a good option if you live far from Gilmer or want a more flexible schedule. Upshur County Jail uses NCIC for video visitation. You have three ways to connect:

From home: Go to ncic.com and create an account. Search for Upshur County Jail in the facility list to schedule a video visit. You can also use the NCIC app on your smartphone.

From the jail lobby: NCIC kiosks are available inside the facility. These are free for on-site visits.

Remote video visits: Remote sessions (from home or outside the facility) are charged per minute. The current rate is listed in your NCIC account. All remote sessions are monitored and recorded.

Signing In for Your Visit

Sign in at least 15 minutes before your scheduled visit time. If you show up late or miss your visit, you may not be able to reschedule for that week. Each inmate is limited to one visit per day and one visit per week per visitor.

What to Bring

Bring a valid photo ID for in-person visits. Leave bags, cell phones, and prohibited items in your car. Dress appropriately for a correctional facility. If you are unsure about what to wear or bring, call 903-843-2541 before going.
