Mount Olive Phone Calls. How GettingOut Works

Calls are outbound only through GettingOut, so set up your account and they call you.

Overview

Phone calls at Mount Olive Correctional Complex go through GettingOut (GTL/ViaPath), the phone service used by West Virginia state prisons. Calls are outbound only: the person calls you. Create a GettingOut account at gettingout.com, add your phone number, and fund it so their calls connect. You cannot call into the facility.

Quick Facts

  • Phone vendor: GettingOut (GTL/ViaPath), used by WV state prisons.
  • Calls are outbound only: the person calls you, not the other way around.
  • Set up a free GettingOut account at gettingout.com.
  • Add your phone number and fund the account so calls connect.
  • Calls are monitored and recorded for security.
  • GettingOut also supports video visits and messaging on supported devices.

Why You Cannot Call In

You cannot dial Mount Olive and reach your loved one. The person uses prison phones connected to the GettingOut system to call approved numbers. Set up your account and keep it funded so their calls go through.

Step 1. Create a GettingOut Account

Go to gettingout.com and create a free account. Use your real name and the phone number you want them to call.

Step 2. Fund the Account

Calls cost money per minute. You can prepay through your GettingOut account so there is always a balance. The person can also pay from their commissary account, which you fund through ConnectNetwork deposits.

Step 3. Be Ready for the Call

Once your number is set up and funded, the person can call during phone access hours. All calls are monitored and recorded. At a maximum security facility, call monitoring is standard and calls may have shorter time limits.

If Calls Are Not Working

Check that your number is in your GettingOut account and that there is money available. Some carriers block calls from correctional facilities. Contact GettingOut support or call Mount Olive at (304) 442-7213 with questions.
