Tygart Valley Phone Calls. How GettingOut Works

Calls are outbound only through GettingOut, so set up your account and they call you.

Overview

Phone calls at Tygart Valley Regional Jail run through GettingOut, the phone service used by West Virginia regional jails (operated by GTL/ViaPath). Calls are outbound only: the person inside calls you. You cannot call into the facility. To receive calls, create a GettingOut account at gettingout.com, add your phone number, and put money on it.

Quick Facts

  • Phone vendor: GettingOut (GTL/ViaPath), used by WV regional jails.
  • Calls are outbound only: the person calls you, not the other way around.
  • Set up a free GettingOut account at gettingout.com.
  • Add your phone number and fund the account so calls connect.
  • Calls are monitored and recorded for security.
  • GettingOut also allows video visits and messaging on supported devices.

Why You Cannot Call In

You cannot dial Tygart Valley and reach your loved one directly. The person uses jail phones connected to the GettingOut system to call approved numbers. Your job is to make sure your number is set up and funded so their call goes through.

Step 1. Create a GettingOut Account

Go to gettingout.com and create a free account. Use your real name and the phone number you want them to call.

Step 2. Fund the Account

Calls cost money per minute. You can prepay through your GettingOut account so there is always a balance. The person can also pay from their own commissary account, which you fund through ConnectNetwork deposits.

Step 3. Be Ready for the Call

Once your number is set up and funded, the person can call you during phone access hours at Tygart Valley. All calls are monitored and recorded.

If Calls Are Not Working

Check that your number is in your GettingOut account and that there is money available. Some carriers block calls from correctional facilities by default. Contact GettingOut support if calls still do not connect. You can also call Tygart Valley at (304) 637-0382 with questions.
